Welcome to our new and improved Web Site!

Relaunched on 20 September 2006. We're very excited about our new web site, and for good reason! Besides the well-deserved facelift, our improved web site has undergone an extensive redesign based on feedback from the public. We hope that these changes allow us to assist you more effectively. Some of the usability and accessability highlights of the new and improved website are:

  • Simplified navigation to various areas of the site have been simplified
  • Content has now been organised into different areas, and grouped accordingly
  • Content items contain print-friendly features
  • Presentation and appearance has been updated for enhanced navigation and usability
  • Non-frames site makes it easy to bookmark our pages
  • Ability to increase text size through site features (or browser settings)

Browsing

Because everyone browses the Web according to personal preference, our site provides a variety of pathways to find the information you seek.

The home page presents a collapsible menu on the left hand side. Clicking on a particular item in the menu enables you to "drill down" even further, into a second level, and if relevant, a third level category of related pages and information.

Search

To make searching easier, there is a SEARCH link located at the top of every page on this site. This search queries the website database, and provides a keyword highlighting methodology when search results are presented, therefore making it easier for you to locate what you are looking for.

Links

At the top of every page there are a number of consistent links to assist with navigation and assistance with this site.

To open PDF documents, you will need a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader which can be downloaded for free from the Adobe web site.

What is a PDF file?

A Portable Document Format (pdf) file is a self-contained cross-platform document. In plain language, it is a file that will look the same on the screen and in print, regardless of what kind of computer or printer someone is using and regardless of what software package was originally used to create it.

Although they contain the complete formatting of the original document, including fonts and images, PDF files are highly compressed, allowing complex information to be downloaded efficiently.

PDF files are indicated by the following graphic:  PDF

How to View PDF Files

Once the Acrobat Reader software is properly installed, you just need to click on a link to a .pdf file and it will be loaded for viewing on your computer.

How to Print PDF Files

When printing Adobe Acrobat PDF files from within your web browser, do NOT use the web browser print facility. Instead, use the print button at the left end of the special Adobe Acrobat tool bar, which appears immediately above the viewing window. See illustration below for location of this print button.
