Tasmanian disability services will get more than $50 million over four years, as part of a national funding agreement.
The package will pay for more than 1400 new support places for people with a disability and their carers.
The $1.9 billion deal was announced in May but the state's allocation has only just been announced.
The Federal Community Services Minister, Jenny Macklin, says the care will include a range of support.
"The Tasmanian Government has put in half the money, the Commonwealth's put in the other half to deliver these extra almost 1500 support places for people with a disability," she said.
"These could be in-home support places, supported accommodation, individual support packages or respite care so a wide range of different types of support places."
