With reference to your coverage of James Macready-Bryan and his family (12/8), Carers Victoria calls for the introduction of a no-fault personal injury compensation scheme that is driven by need not cause.

James and his family, and all other members of our Victorian community in similar situations, should not miss out on the care and financial assistance they deserve because they are injured not by motor accident or workplace injury but by physical assault or an accident.

It's time for a fair and equitable personal injury compensation scheme.
