Vale Sally Robinson ~ 1 November 2007:
At the forefront of moves to bring young people out of nursing homes, Sally Robinson was the first to put her hand up to be part of the MS Society’s efforts to get the Federal Government’s agreement to use its Aged Care Innovative Pool to bring young people out of nursing homes and into supported accommodation in the community.
The fact that there were no guarantees about the move itself did not deter Sally: she was always willing to be involved, whether it was urging governments to act on the YPINH issue, speaking to the media about why action was needed, or receiving the keys to her new home on behalf of all her housemates from then Aged Care Minister, Julie Bishop.
Sally was generous with her time, her support and her humour. Respected by politicians and media alike, Sally left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her. We will miss her greatly.
The Alliance extends its sincere sympathy to Sally’s family and friends at this sad time.
