GI michelleThe issue of young people in nursing homes and disability will affect most Australians at some point in their lifetime, and every single Australian can help to resolve it. Regardless of your place in the community, you can support the Alliance in a variety of ways. These range from regular or one-off monetary donations, corporate partnerships, and gifts in kind, to a simple yet effective process of contacting your MPs.

Donations

One of the main roles of YPINH is to provide support to young people, their families and carers that are not provided elsewhere. Like the many facets in any person's life, these needs vary enormously from person to person. The support we can provide range from essential aids & equipment to prevent a decline in health, to communication devices for those experiencing isolation from their family and peers, to assisting a person access the community.

The Alliance welcomes a number of avenues of making a donation.

Contact us if you would like to discuss other ways of supporting young people in nursing homes, such as becoming a regular giver through direct debit or leaving a bequest.

All donations of $2 and over are tax deductible and you will receive a tax receipt.

Gifts in Kind

Do you have a skill or a product you would like to offer that would benefit our members or organisation? Like any organisation, the Alliance requires input from many people in order to run effectively, and sometimes a Gift in Kind can be just as helpful as a monetary donation

Please feel free to contact us to discuss your Gift in Kind

Contact your MPs

One of the most effective ways of resolving the Young People In Nursing Homes issue is to voice your concerns with the governments. In order for change to take place it is imperative that MPs are made aware of the issues within the community in order for them to act on it. We urge all Australians to take action today!

To voice your concerns, follow these steps:

  • Find your State and Federal MPs (you can do this by following the links in the table below to find your relevant MPs);
  • Phone them at their electoral offices;
  • Express your concern for the Young People In Nursing Homes issue and ask what they and their party are currently doing to resolve it;
  • Follow up the phonecall with a letter outlining your concerns and indicating whether you are satisfied with the response you were given over the phone;
  • Contact us to let us know that you have taken action and the response you have received.
